Too Too vs. Naimjon Tuhtaboyev to headline WLC: Battlebones on January 5

    StevenBy StevenDecember 6, 2019No Comments2 Mins Read

The World Lethwei Championship (WLC) has just announced the full fight card for WLC: Battlebones, an upcoming event set for Taungoo Football Stadium, in Taungoo, Myanmar, on January 5.

In the main event, reigning middleweight champion Too Too will defend his world title for the first time in over a year when he takes on Naimjon Tuhtaboyev of Uzbekistan. Too Too is the winningest fighter in WLC history, capturing a total of four wins in the promotion’s short history. Many believe that Too Too is the best Burmese bare-knuckle boxer on the planet.

This will not be the first time the two have squared off. In 2014, both men fought each other in a bare-knuckle Muay Thai contest, with Tuhtaboyev emerging victorious. In their highly anticipated rematch, the coveted Lethwei Middleweight World Championship will be on the line, therefore the stakes are higher than ever.

The co-main event will feature Cambodia’s top bantamweight, Sok Rith, who will make his Lethwei debut against a mystery opponent. Another Khmer superstar will also feature, as Elite San takes on Myanmar’s Hein Tun Aung.

Italy’s Samuel Toscano gets the opportunity to compete in Lethwei for the first time in his career. A veteran of the European Muay Thai circuit, he traveled to Myanmar earlier this year on holiday and has since fallen in love with the sport. He takes on Saw Kaung Htet from Myanmar.

France’s female sensation Souris Manfredi wowed Lethwei fans with her impressive headbutts in her debut back in August, picking up a KO victory. She will now face teenage prodigy Tran Thi Lua from Vietnam on January 5.

A few Myanmar vs. Myanmar matchups are also on the card. Lin Htet Naing challenges Zin Bo in the opening bout, while Thar Win Tun and Kyar Thway will battle it out in a light welterweight contest. On top of this, welterweight’s Tun Lin Aung and Ye Tway Aung will be looking to leave their mark on the Lethwei world.
