Why are we getting the Jorge Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz rematch? 1

Now that it looks like we’re getting the Jorge Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz rematch, Patrick Auger explains why it makes sense for the UFC to go this route.

Auger, the host of The Fight Business Podcast, explains that this is a power move by the UFC to get two of its biggest “cash cows” fighting again. And while it’s certainly not the most ideal matchup for either fighter, at least it gets both fighters back in the cage.

Auger asks what else the promotion could have done with Masvidal? He explains that the heat with Edwards has died down and that the Covington vs. Masvidal anticipation has reduced, too.

The fight won’t have the same feeling that the first BMF title fight had, but it’ll keep Masvidal and Diaz fighting and it may even set up a fight with Conor McGregor in the future.

  1. I really disagree with you I think it is certainly the most ideal matchup for both Fighters, the fight was in New York so they were not really able to have a real BMF match, I really feel this is going to be a a different fight, Nate dominates and gets the Finish mark my words.
