Understanding Anderson Silva's "retirement" 1

Anderson Silva’s fight against Uriah Hall has been advertised as his “retirement fight,” but is “The Spider” really retiring from mixed martial arts or just the UFC?

In this video, Patrick Auger and Drake Riggs share their opinions on Silva’s supposedly final fight with the UFC.

Auger says that the most likely scenario is if Silva retires from the UFC but later fights in an exhibition “special boxing match” or something similar.

Riggs comments on that and reminds fans that Silva has always wanted a boxing match with Roy Jones Jr. Interestingly, RJJ is returning to the ring in November, and a bout with Silva isn’t impossible.

But Riggs also touches on the fact that Silva is supposed to have two fights remaining on his UFC contract. He finds it strange that the UFC is booking this as some kind of “retirement” fight for Silva considering that he has that one extra fight remaining.

But what else could be in line for Silva after his time with the UFC? Could he make an appearance in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC)? Possibly. Auger and Riggs share their opinions on that, as well.
