UFC 251: Usman v Masvidal

On Monday, Dana White announced that UFC 261 will take place in front of a full crowd in Jacksonville, Florida. The main event of the evening will be a rematch between Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal for the UFC Welterweight Championship.

Jorge Masvidal gets another shot at Kamaru Usman’s welterweight title despite losing to the champion 50-45, 50-45, and 49-46 in his last fight.

Masvidal claims that he’ll beat the champion now that he’ll get a full training camp for this one. At UFC 251, Masvidal had less than a week to prepare for Usman after the champion’s original opponent, Gilbert Burns, was forced to withdraw.

But Masvidal was dominated by Usman making it one of the strangest title fight rematches the UFC has ever put together.

In this video, Ant Walker, Matthew Wells, and Drake Riggs discuss the Kamaru Usman vs Jorge Masvidal rematch set for UFC 261. Walker, Wells, and Riggs share their initial reactions to hearing the announcement and comment on whether this was the right fight to make. And if it wasn’t Masvidal, who should it have been?

What are your thoughts? Do you think the Usman vs. Masvidal rematch is a good idea? Or who would you have preferred to see fight Kamaru Usman for the welterweight strap?
