Jon Jones focused on Stipe Miocic fight, doesn't want to 'waste energy' on Israel Adesanya 1

Jon Jones doesn’t want to waste energy on Israel Adesanya. Instead, the former UFC light heavyweight champion has his sights set on a fight with heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.

In an interview with Tom Taylor, Jones stated that beating Miocic is the best possible case for improving his legacy.

“The Izzy fight, if it happens, it happens. I wanted to fight [him] a long time ago, and I feel like he already showed me his true colors. He said he needed time to clear his division, and he said that he didn’t want to be the Canelo to my Mayweather,” said Jon Jones.

“I moved to heavyweight, and he immediately came to the light heavyweight division. If that doesn’t show signs of a man who just doesn’t want to fight… I’m not going to waste energy focusing on him. I feel like beating him doesn’t do that much for my legacy. I feel like beating a Stipe Miocic – there’s nothing bigger than that.” said Jones.

In a video posted to The Body Lock’s YouTube channel, Matthew Wells and Ant Walker discuss Jones’ comments and share their opinions on which fight makes the most sense for Jones right now and down the line.

What do you think? If you could see just one fight, would you want to see Jones vs. Miocic or Jones vs. Adesanya?
