- ESPN has revealed yet another UFC PPV price increase
UFC fans are now required to pay more than ever before to watch UFC pay-per-view events.
Last Wednesday, it was revealed that the price of UFC PPV events on ESPN+ (ESPN Plus) will increase from $64.99 to $69.99. The price hike comes before the promotion’s first PPV event of the year, UFC 257, which features Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor on Jan. 23.
Now that UFC PPV events air exclusively on the ESPN+ digital streaming service, fans are first required to have an existing ESPN+ subscription in order to purchase and watch the event.
And the price of ESPN+ subscriptions is set to increase, as well. The price of an annual ESPN+ subscription for new subscribers will rise from $49.99 to $59.99. Existing ESPN+ subscribers will have the opportunity to renew at the former price of $49.99 until March 2, 2021.
The price increases come just one year after ESPN raised the UFC PPV price from $59.99 to $64.99 before UFC 246: McGregor vs. Cerrone.
The monthly cost of ESPN+ will remain the same at $5.99. Fans can save by 17 percent annually by purchasing the new $59.99 annual plan rather than paying monthly over the course of one year.
An alternate method of accessing UFC PPV content via ESPN+ is by purchasing Disney’s triple bundle that includes Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu for $12.99 per month. The price of this bundle is also set to increase to $13.99 as of March 26.
