Marina Rodriguez vs. Amanda Ribas play-by-play
Round one
Rodriguez circling. Ribas advancing but mostly following Rodriguez to start instead of cutting the cage. She swings some wild punches. Misses her strikes and keeps to advancing. Rodgiruez looks to be controlling the distance very well so far. Ribas not cutting the cage and it’s going to hurt if she doesn’t resolve that right now. Big takedown for Ribas but she doesn’t control the position and instead Rodriguez gets one hook in and tries to squeeze in a second for complete back control. Ribas lands on top now and is in Rodriguez’s full guard. Occasional strikes but nothing too significant right now. Ribas working from top position. She controls Rodriguez for the latter half of the round with some smaller strikes in between. A good round for Ribas in the end.
Ribas 10-9
Round two
A slow start to round two, but then Marina Rodriguez goes BOOM. She lands a strong right hand on the chin and drops Amanda Ribas. Ribas is down. It looks like she’s out. Rodriguez is on top and she’s trying to finish. But she walks away and thinks that the fight is over? But referee Herb Dean has not stopped the fight yet! Rodriguez comes back and lands more heavy punches. That’s enough for Dean to step in and put an end to it. A huge win for Rodriguez.
