Lee (17-5) will be attempting to snap a two-fight losing streak after he suffered consecutive defeats to Al Iaquinta and then Rafael dos Anjos. After fighting dos Anjos at welterweight, Lee now returns to lightweight for this fight at UFC 244.
Gillespie (13-0) has won all six of his fights in the UFC so far, with recent wins coming against Yancy Medeiros and Vinc Pichel.

Lee crouched forward and trying to stay low to stop the potential Gillespie takedowns. Gillespie shoots forward but Lee is ready and evades the attempt. Nice jabs from Gillespie hitting the chin of Lee. Lee also reaching out with straight punches. Great right hand connects for Lee. Gillespie dips forward to try a right uppercut but falls short. Gillespie clips Lee with a right hand. Both guys landing stiff punches to start this round.
It’s a battle of jabs so far through the first two and a half minutes. Lee reaching out with his jab and waiting to send the right hand through. Gillespie lands with power. Lee stings Gillespie with a punch and then sleeps Gillespie with a left high kick. Gillespie shuts down and falls against the cage and floor. The fight is over.
