Ramos opens up with an inside leg kick. Patient start from both guys. Makhachev tries a left hand down the middle. Southpaw vs. orthodox fight, so both guys are touching the other’s lead hand and trying to create some openings. Makhachev moves forward with a lead left hand followed by a jab but Ramos defends on the forearms. No level changes, yet, as both fighters stare down the line at each other. Clean left hand for Makhachev connects. Both fighters are kind-of frozen in front of each other; not a lot of feints or footwork. Slow, patient round.
Ramos explodes for just a second and tries to swing a right hand around Makhachev’s guard. Ramos swings and misses with a right hand. Comes forward again and this time connects with a right hand.
That’s the end of the round. A very close round as neither fighter did much. Makhachev just did a little more.

The first grappling exchange of the fight comes not long after the start of the second round. Ramos storms forward and has Makhachev against the cage. No success with the takedown attempt. Makhachev taking control of the striking now. Slipping punches and drilling straight punches down the middle.
Makhachev tagged by a Ramos punch and loses his balance temporarily. Recovers well. Lead jab into a straight right hand connects for Makhachev. Makhachev winning the close-range battles right now. Working in the clinch and separating at the right time. As Ramos comes forward, Makhachev circles out and lands a hook. Now he’s starting to step up the pace by landing a couple of jabs. That’s it for round two.

Ramos getting a bit reckless to start round three. Moves forward to close the distance and gets whacked by Makhachev. Makhachev standing over Ramos now and unloads about 20 unanswered strikes. Ramos does a good job of defending enough to stay in the fight. As Makhachev falls down into his full guard, Ramos ties up his arms and attempts to catch a breath.
Makhachev staying heavy in Ramos’ full guard. Ramos really trying to throw his hips up and start working submissions or other attacks from his back. Dangerous spot for Makhachev, even though he’s on top. Ramos now put his feet on the cage and tries to push off and separate. Makhachev still heavy on top. Again tries to walk up the fence and flip but Makhachev defends and maintains top control.
Clearest round of the three and should be an easy win for Makhachev.
