Betting odds for Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler, Charles Oliveira revealed 4

Conor McGregor was back in the spotlight last weekend after UFC lightweight Michael Chandler called for a fight with the former UFC two-division champion following his victory at UFC 274.

After Chandler knocked Tony Ferguson out with an incredible front kick in round two on Saturday night’s main card, the former Bellator champion took to the microphone and stated his intentions.

“There is not one MMA fan on the planet that doesn’t want to see me rematch you Charles [Oliveira] or rematch you Justin Gaethje. … If Hunter Campbell and Dana White have a momentary lapse in judgment and they give the title shot to someone else, I’ve got one dude on my mind.

“Conor McGregor, you’ve got to come back and fight somebody. I am the most entertaining lightweight on the planet. But I want to up the stakes, Conor. I want you at your biggest, I want you at your baddest and I want you at your best. You and me at 170 this summer, this fall, this winter. Holler at your boy!” (via Bleacher Report).

It didn’t take long for McGregor to respond to Chandler’s callout on Twitter and the UFC superstar appears to be interested in fighting Chandler.

“I’d have a nice knock off this guy, no doubt about it. A firework spectacle. I like the 170 shout also. Tipped him over. I’m definitely game to fight this guy at some stage in my career. I see it happening after tonight. Congrats on a solid win Michael and another barnstormer,” McGregor tweeted.

Chandler’s callout and McGregor’s fast response led to many speculating on the outcome of a potential fight between the two. Bookmakers were quick to create betting markets for the fight, as well.

BetUS was one of the first to offer odds on McGregor vs. Chandler and they have the former UFC two-division champion listed as an underdog at odds of +145 against Chandler, the favorite, at odds of -175.

But the Chandler vs. McGregor lines weren’t the only McGregor-related betting opportunity that opened up after UFC 274.

Charles Oliveira, the former UFC lightweight champion, submitted Justin Gaethje in the UFC 274 main event to ensure he’ll get another shot at the title. Just like Chandler moments before him, Oliveira also called for a fight with McGregor who appears to be close to a return to the Octagon.

“Hey, Conor McGregor – you coming up or are you going to run away?” Oliveira said in the post-fight interview at UFC 274.

McGregor, now fielding multiple requests, quickly replied via Twitter.

“I’m not sure I wish to cut the weight. I am really enjoying being built like a refrigerator. I feel I want to fight at this size just to watch it back lol. But I’d love to fight the Brazilian, 100%! I love Brazil and I’m unbeaten against Brazil. All KO’s. I’ve some thinking to do,” McGregor tweeted.

BetUS soon launched a betting market for a potential Charles Oliveira vs. Conor McGregor fight and they have Oliveira listed as a slight underdog against McGregor.

Both markets are only eligible if the fight takes place in 2022. At this stage, it’d be better to review the odds of McGregor returning this year at all.
