Riski “King Kong” Umar followed up his impressive MMA debut in September last year with another thrilling victory at ONE: Kings of Courage in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Bali MMA prospect collided with Egi Rozten, who was stepping in on short notice after Umar’s original opponent, Arnol Batubara, withdrew from the contest. When the two met in the center of the ONE Championship cage, they immediately stated their vicious intentions with a relentless barrage of punches.
“King Kong” had originally detailed his gameplan as a “seek and destroy” mission this time in Jakarta, and his strategy resembled exactly that. Daring it all against the boxing abilities of Rozten, Umar kept the fight standing and engaged in a back-and-forth slugfest. In fact, the contest at times resembled the non-stop ferocity of a Muay Thai fight as the two fighters traded blows.
The finishing series came just as Rozten had clearly fatigued. Umar controlled the back of Rozten’s head in the clinch with his left hand before pulling it right toward a devastating right elbow that knocked the life out of his opponent. After feeling the full force of Umar’s strike, Rozten fell to the mat and Umar took top position before stopping the fight with a number of strikes from full mount.
Riski Umar now moves to 2-0 as a professional mixed martial artist, with both of his wins in ONE Championship. Don’t be surprised to see Umar feature highly in future events in Indonesia considering his entertaining style of fighting.
