Rika Ishige hopes to return to winning ways at ONE: Warriors of the World when she meets ONE Championship newcomer Rome Trinidad in Bangkok on December 9.
Ishige has accumulated quite the following since joining ONE Championship in March this year. After winning her first two contests in the first round, she was toppled by the hard-hitting Jomary Torres at ONE: Kings and Conquerors in August.
The 28-year-old, who trains at Bangkok Fight Lab, traveled to Phuket in October to train with Tiger Muay Thai in preparation for her upcoming contest.
Trinidad, of Manila, Philippines, will be stepping into the ONE Championship cage for the first time. The 20-year-old made her mixed martial arts debut earlier this year at UGB 20. After repeatedly taking her opponent down to the mat, Trinidad was able to finish the contest with relentless ground and pound in the third round.
The main event of ONE: Warriors of the World will see Yoshitaka Naito attempt to defend his ONE Strawweight World Championship against Alex Silva.
