It might have taken him five attempts, but Rajinder Singh Meena picked up his first ONE Championship victory after submitting Ze Hao Zhang in the first round at ONE: Global Superheroes.

Meena (9-7) showed no fear as he engaged in a wild back-and-forth exchange with Zhang (2-1) in the center of the cage. The Chinese fighter moved in and must have expected Meena to track backward to the boundary of the cage, however, Meena instead tucked his chin, planted his feet and answered back with devastating punches.
Zhang, who was stunned by the combination of strikes, fell to the mat and Singh looked to take full mount before instead transitioning to a guillotine choke. While fans waited to see if Zhang could slide his head out of the submission and remove himself from danger, we instead saw him collapse to the canvas as a result of Meena’s vicious squeeze.
Zhang Ze Hao’s gameplan proved to be bizarre. Rather than simply attempting to outwork Meena, he took a risk and it backfired immediately. He now moves to 2-1 and shatters his two-fight winning streak with ONE Championship.
Rajinder Singh Meena’s victory was his first since March 2014 and it snapped a losing streak that featured six consecutive first-round defeats.
