Phoe Thaw had everyone in Thuwunna Stadium on their feet when he connected with a tremendous push kick to finish the fight at ONE: Quest for Gold.
Sor Sey was the man on the receiving end of the most memorable knockout of the night in Yangon, Myanmar. After a reluctant first opening period, Phoe Thaw started requesting Sor Sey to engage with him. Instead, Sor Sey was comfortable standing back and patiently waiting for his opportunities.
Phoe Thaw was having none of that, however, and began rushing in with combinations of strikes to try and turn it into a slugfest. For his efforts, Phoe Thaw did receive a whopping right hand on the chin as a result of lazily stepping into boxing range with Sor Sey.
The fight came to a sudden ending when Phoe Thaw threw up a brilliant push kick to the face of his opponent. It was about as rare of a finish as you will see inside the cage and Sor Sey went down immediately.
The victory means that Phoe Thaw moves to 6-0 as a professional and is quickly becoming a star in the region. Sor Sey’s defeat means that he falls to 3-2 and 1-1 in ONE Championship.
