Li Kai Wen bounced back in a big way when he ran through Roel Rosauro in just 43 seconds at ONE: Quest for Gold in Yangon, Myanmar.
The last time Li was inside the ONE Championship cage was November 2017 when he was disqualified for illegal strikes to the back of the head. His blows were likely a result of an aggression-filled staredown with Ahmed Mujtaba and the two started to express their ferocity inside the cage.
This time, Li was much more respectful and touched gloves with Rosauro before proceeding to pummel him with punches and strikes.
Rosauro showed a southpaw stance early but proper technique was soon out the window as Li started to pressure him. Rosauro was clearly not comfortable with the pace and aggression of his opponent and began attempting wild strikes such as spinning back fists after turning his back momentarily.
Li was oozing with confidence by this time and started throwing strikes recklessly, but it never mattered. The 22-year-old finished the fight with a brilliant guillotine immediately after Rosauro exposed his neck.
The win moved Li to 7-4 as a professional and 6-2 with ONE Championship. Short notice replacement Roel Rosauro falls to 4-2 after experiencing defeat for the second time.
