ONE: Call to Greatness Results

Ariel Sexton outlasts Amir Khan

Ariel Sexton def. Amir Khan via submission (rear-naked choke) – R3, 1:13

A brilliant back-and-forth fight ends with Ariel Sexton securing a rear-naked choke victory in the third round.

Amir Khan pieced up Sexton on the feet throughout the opening rounds, even knocking him down and coming close to a stoppage victory. However, Sexton survived the onslaught only to take over with the help of his grappling advantage. Khan faded in the third round and Sexton took the back to finish the choke.

Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev smashes Ev Ting

Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev def. Ev Ting via knockout (left hook) – R1, 0:25

Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev advances to the next round of the Lightweight Grand Prix after demolishing Ev Ting inside the first 30 seconds. Easy work.

Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke crushes Jeremy Miado

Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke def. Jeremy Miado via TKO (knees) – R2, 2:38

Brilliant fight. Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke was getting lit up by Jeremy Miado early in the fight, but eventually turned it around toward the end of round one. Dejdamrong secured some kind of crazy neck crank position that looked awfully uncomfortable for Miado, but he survived.

The leg kicks began to add up, all while Miado was only tagging the high guard of Dejdamrong who bounced off the incoming strikes using his forearms and gloves. Miado felt compelled to shoot for a takedown but ended up underneath Dejdamrong who pounded more than 20 unanswered knees into the head of his downed opponent.

Ayaka Miura dominates Laura Balin

Ayaka Miura def. Laura Balin via submission (scarf hold armlock) – R1, 1:13

A new contender has arrived in the women’s strawweight division.

Ayak Miura takes down Laura Balin with a brilliant judo throw before securing judo side control. Miura rained down a couple of heavy shots before eventually sliding into a scarf hold position to finish via armlock. Impressive win.

Masakazu Iminari heel hooks Kwon Won Il

Masakazu Imanari def. Kwon Won Il via submission (heel hook) – R1, 0:53

It was easy work for Masakazu Iminari in Singapore tonight. From the opening seconds, it was clear that Iminari had his heart set on rolling into a leg lock position. After failing on his first two attempts, it appeared that Kwon Won Il might have the tools required to stay out of danger. However, a low kick from Kwon was enough for Iminari to roll in one more time and lock up the legs of Kwon. Iminari entered double outside ashi before finishing the heel hook with ease.

Rudy Agustian submits Khon Sichan

Rudy Agustian def. Khon Sichan via submission (rear-naked choke) – R1, 3:14

It was a grappler vs. striker matchup to get things started at ONE: Call to Greatness and the grappler came out on top. Rudy Agustain secured a takedown 50 seconds into the contest before applying enough heavy pressure from side control to maintain the dominant position. Agustian was focused on sliding through to the crucifix position but eventually settled on taking the mount position. Sichan was clearly outmatched on the ground and gave up his back, allowing Agustain to lock up a fast rear-naked choke finish.

  1. Anybody know what happened to the Mei Yamaguchi vs. Meng Bo fight that was supposed to have taken place on this card? I heard it was cancelled but nothing on by who, why and when it was canceled.

    1. Hi JR – hope you’re well. Meng Bo was injured just a few days before the event. Mei Yamaguchi expects to fight again very soon, interested to see where ONE can slot her in.
